Dateline: World

Hear ye hear he hear ye
Look sharp, citizens. Keep
to the right or left.
No pushing. Never yell.
Avoid Sundays. You’ve all
made your beds. Aspire
to speed on your way.
Who knows when you will
get in. Declare all articles
or lives. East west north south.
It’s a chant. Morning noon night
sing the voices. Forget about tents.
Visualize a waltz, but not here.
The woman to the right will not
think of sharing. I can’t say
about kids. Old folks you don’t see.
You have the clothes on your backs.
It’s a speaking species but note
the silence. Maybe barter would work.
Give hands, arms, legs. Anything
not nailed down. Not aware
of wind. Stars. Later.
